About

Bakkat palmok makgi (바깥팔목막기), literally outer forearm block, is in ITF taekwondo a block with the outer side of the forearm. ITF terminology adds a direction or shape to the name: yop for sideways, hechyo for a wedge block with both arms, and chookyo for a rising block; it is also combined with a level, for example nopunde for a high level. A low outer-forearm block in a walking stance is the very first movement of the tul Chon-Ji, the first ITF form, and it repeats in its third, fifth, and seventh movements.
