Manuscript MS 3227a (attributed to Hankow Döbringer) dates from 1389 and is the oldest surviving written record of the teachings of Grandmaster Johannes Liechtenauer. This key HEMA document teaches the philosophy of direct offensive fencing with the two-handed longsword, dagger and wrestling.
