Definition
Dobok (도복, 道服) literally means “clothing of the way”. It is the training uniform of Korean martial arts, consisting of trousers, a jacket and a belt called ti. It corresponds to the Japanese keikogi. The form differs by organization. The WT taekwondo dobok has a pullover jacket with a V-neck. Holders of the poom grade, the master grade for children and youth, have a red and black collar, and dan holders a black one. The ITF dobok has a jacket that fastens at the front, and holders of a black belt have a black trim along the bottom edge of the jacket. Hapkido and other arts often wear a dobok similar to a judo uniform.
