About
Twimyo Sangbang Chagi, in English flying two direction kick or split kick, is a flying kick of ITF taekwondo in two directions. Twimyo means in flight or jumping, sangbang both sides or two directions, and chagi kick. In the air, two techniques are performed simultaneously: a twisting kick with the left leg and a side piercing kick with the right. It differs from other flying kicks, such as Twimyo Ap Chagi or Twimyo Dollyo Chagi, in combining two different kicks in a single jump, each with a different leg, instead of one technique. It belongs to the tul Juche, an advanced black-belt tul of ITF, where it is the 37th movement: a twisting kick with the left leg combined with a side piercing kick with the right. It shows aerial coordination of two different kicks. We have not been able to document who introduced the technique.
