About
Twimyo Nopi Chagi, in English flying high kick, is a high flying kick of ITF taekwondo. The name combines twimyo (in flight, by jumping), nopi (high) and chagi, a general kick term that does not specify the tool, unlike names with jirugi or busigi. The striking surface is apkumchi, the front part of the foot. In the ITF terminology overview of kicks it is listed as a separate flying technique alongside Twio Dolmyo Yop Cha Jirugi. It differs from the flying side kick Twimyo Yop Cha Jirugi, which strikes with the edge of the foot, and from the flying turning kick Twimyo Dollyo Chagi, in being a general straight high kick without a set side or rotation. Nor is it the competition breaking version on a board, Twimyo Nopi Ap Cha Busigi. Unlike Twimyo Sangbang Chagi, which combines two different kicks in one jump, it is a single technique with one leg. We have not been able to document a more detailed description of the execution or the origin of the technique.
