About

Twimyo apcha busigi is, in ITF taekwondo terminology, a flying front snap kick. Apcha busigi means a front snap kick, and the word twimyo turns it into a version performed while jumping. A German description lists it as a jumping front snap kick performed with the right ball of the foot. As a named movement it appears in the tul So-San, where it is movement number 28. The practitioner raises the left leg, pushes off with the right leg toward point C, and performs the flying snap kick at the same time. It differs from twimyo nopi ap cha busigi in the tul Ul-Ji, movement 27, by the missing word nopi, meaning high; that one is the competition breaking variant of the kick aimed at a board. It differs from twimyo ap chagi, the general flying front kick practiced at blue belt, in that it is a specific tul movement using the snap technique busigi, not the generic kick chagi. Who introduced the technique, and whether it is practiced outside the tul So-San, we have not been able to document.
