About
In ITF Taekwon-Do, sonkal naeryo taerigi is a strike with the knife-hand directed downward. The striking surface is the knife-hand (sonkal), the edge of the palm between the base of the little finger and the wrist; it targets the neck, collarbone, temple or wrist. It differs from the reverse knife-hand strike (sonkal dung taerigi) in the side used: here the little-finger edge, there the thumb edge. Hwa-Rang: movement 7 — a downward strike with the right knife-hand while taking the left vertical stance soojik sogi with the right foot drawn in.
