Quick Facts
About
Biceps slicer, literally biceps cutter, also called biceps lock or biceps crusher, is a compression lock in which the attacker presses the shin or forearm against the opponent's biceps. The opponent's arm bends at the elbow over a support formed by the attacker's arm or leg, so the biceps is pressed against the humerus. Compression locks, including the biceps slicer, count among the submission holds of grappling sports generally. It is used, among others, in judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and catch wrestling. Per the English Wikipedia it is allowed in judo, but banned for lower belts in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It differs from the classic armbar, which levers the elbow joint along its axis, in attacking the muscle by compression rather than the joint. The mechanism differs from the kimura too: the kimura rotates the shoulder joint, the biceps slicer directly compresses the muscle. Forceful use risks muscle or tendon damage, and combined with an elbow lock, more serious injury.
