About Qazaq Kuresi

Qazaq Kuresi is the national wrestling sport of Kazakhstan. Wrestlers wear special clothing (Shapan) with short sleeves and a thick belt. Grasping the belt, clothing, throws over the hips, sweeps and takedowns are permitted. The match is held standing only and is inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
