Myung Jae-nam was a Korean hapkido master and the creator of a style called hankido. He died in 1999; we have not been able to verify the date and place of his birth.
He was among the founding members of the Korea Hapkido Association, established in 1965 at the request of South Korean president Park Chung-hee. Around that same year, he exchanged techniques with an aikido practitioner named Hirata for roughly four years and incorporated aikido elements into his hapkido. We have not found in the sources whom he himself learned hapkido from.
He later split from the Korea Hapkido Association and developed his own style, hankido. He led the International Hapkido Federation (IHF) until his death in 1999.
