About Goresh (Turkmen Belt Wrestling)
Goresh is the national wrestling sport of Turkmenistan. Wrestlers wear traditional cloaks (Don) and a thick belt. The match begins with a double-sided grip on the belt and the goal is to pull or throw the opponent to the ground so that he touches the ground with any part of his body except the feet.
