History
Traditional weapon of Edo-period Japanese law enforcement (Doshin). As shedding samurai blood in the Shogun palace was forbidden, the Jitte was engineered to trap Katana blades and arrest suspects without killing.

The blunt iron rod absorbs sword slashes while the side hook (Kagi) traps the blade, leveraging it out of the attacker grip to allow strikes to pressure points (Kyusho).
