Definition
Sutemi-waza ('sacrifice techniques') converts total body-drop momentum into throwing velocity. By falling intentionally onto the back (Ma-sutemi-waza like Tomoe-nage) or side (Yoko-sutemi-waza), the attacker launches the opponent overhead.
