About

Yeop jireugi, literally side punch (in English Side Punch), is a WT taekwondo punch which the Kukkiwon terminology dictionary explains as a strike with the body turned to the side. Yeop means side, jireugi a fist punch. The Taekwondo Compendium lists it among the attacking techniques of the poomsae Taegeuk Chil Jang. In the Phoenix Taekwondo photo breakdown it corresponds to a middle-level punch in juchum seogi with a kihap near the poomsae's end.
