About

Sonkal najunde yop makgi, literally low side knife-hand block, is in ITF Taekwondo a side block (yop makgi) with the knife-hand (sonkal) at a low level (najunde). In the tul Moon-Moo it is, per the breakdowns of both dotaekwondo.net and taekwondo.sk, movement 30 and 39, both in a sitting stance (annun sogi): in movement 30 with the left knife-hand, in movement 39 with the right. The dotaekwondo.net breakdown also lists it in movements 9 and 18, where it is performed together with a high side block with the other knife-hand in a one-leg stance; taekwondo.sk names these two movements together as sonkal bakuro makgi.
