About
Sonkal dung san makgi is in ITF taekwondo a W-shape block (san makgi) performed with the ridge hand (sonkal dung); dung means back or reverse side. From the block bakat palmok san makgi, which ITF Taekwon-Do Australia lists as a W block with the outer forearm, it differs by what performs the block. In the tul Yon-Gae it is, per the dotaekwondo.net breakdown, the 23rd and 30th movement. In both cases the practitioner takes a sitting stance (annun sogi), in the 23rd movement after shifting the right foot, in the 30th movement after shifting the left foot.
