About

Sonbadak mirro makgi is, in ITF terminology, a palm pushing block (palm pushing block). The palm, sonbadak, blocks with a pushing motion forward, mirro, against the incoming attack. The Wexford Taekwondo club transcribes it as sonbadak miro makgi. According to Taekwondo Nation, the pushing block stops the attack of a pushing opponent and also opens space for a counterattack. The same group of pushing blocks includes doo palmok najunde mirro makgi, which however works with both forearms at a low level, whereas here a single palm blocks. In the tul Hwa-Rang it is the 1st movement.
