About

Sonbadak duro makgi is a palm block (sonbadak) in ITF taekwondo done with a scooping, sliding motion. The United ITF Australia glossary lists it as palm scooping block. Not to be confused with sonbadak golcha makgi, palm hooking block: per the same glossary these are two separate techniques, scooping and hooking. In the ITF tul Ge-Baek it is the 9th and 29th movement, once with each palm, both in the annun sogi stance.
