About

Sasun sogi, literally diagonal stance, is an ITF Taekwon-Do stance that the Trident Taekwon-Do glossary places among the black-belt stances with reference to the tul Juche; the Cambridge Taekwon-Do terminology lists it under the same name. We have not been able to establish the exact weight distribution and dimensions of the stance in the sources. The dotaekwondo.net breakdown lists it in three tuls, each time as a left diagonal stance: in the tul Juche in movement 38, after a jump with a rising block with both palms; in the tul Sam-Il in movement 20, after a turn counter-clockwise with a back-elbow strike, during which the right palm supports the left fist; and in the tul Se-Jong in movement 17, with a pressing block with both palms.
