About

Oesanteul makgi (English: single mountain block) is defined by Kukkiwon terminology as a combination of two blocks: anpalmok bakkat makgi, an outward block with the inner wrist, and bakkatpalmok naeryeo makgi, a downward block with the outer wrist. The Taekwondo Compendium lists it in shortened form as oesan makgi and composes it of a high side block with the inner forearm and a side block downward. In the poomsae Taegeuk Pal Jang it appears twice; the Phoenix Taekwondo photo breakdown shows it both times in the front stance turned 45°.
