About

Mo ap gubi (모 앞 굽이), in English angled forward stance, is a diagonal form of the front stance ap kubi. Mo means, in Kukkiwon terminology, oblique, diagonal; ap kubi is, in the same source, a stance with weight on the front leg. We have not found a separate entry for mo ap gubi in Kukkiwon terminology. Taekwondo Compendium lists it among the stances of Taegeuk Pal Jang: both feet in one line, toes turned out 30 degrees. Per Phoenix Taekwondo's photo breakdown, it appears twice, each time with the block oesanteul makgi; between the two is the transition ap kkoa seogi.
