About
Kyocha sogi, in English X-stance, is an ITF taekwondo stance in which one leg crosses over or behind the other and only the toes lightly touch the ground. The full weight rests on the supporting leg, and the stance is named right or left accordingly. According to dotaekwondo.net, it suits an attack to the side or forward, occasionally a block, and serves as a preparatory stance for the following movement. It appears in four ITF tuls: in Po-Eun it is the 13th, 17th, 31st, and 35th movement, in Ge-Baek the 28th movement, in Toi-Gye the 29th movement, and in Yul-Gok the 36th movement.
