Quick Facts
About
Houzi Tou Tao (猴子偷桃), in English Monkey Steals Peach, is a technique of the monkey style Hou Quan, documented in its drunken monkey variant. Its target is the opponent's groin. The technique follows a deceptive position lying on the ground, in which the practitioner appears injured or vulnerable. When the opponent approaches, a powerful kick follows, with an immediate attack on the groin. It thus exploits the surprise of an opponent who believes they hold the advantage over an apparently defenceless practitioner. We have not been able to document who introduced it or how it is performed outside the drunken monkey variant.
