About
Gojung sogi, in English fixed stance, is an ITF taekwondo stance with the body half sideways and the weight even on both legs. Named after the front leg, right or left. Per dotaekwondo.net, the feet are set about one and a half shoulder-widths apart; the Mark Farnham Taekwondo material gives a width of one shoulder-width and a length of one and a half. General Choi Hong Hi's encyclopedia describes it as a stance for attack and defence to the side. It differs from niunja sogi, where the weight rests mainly on the rear leg, in the even weight and wider foot spacing. In Won-Hyo it is the 3rd, 6th, 15th, and 18th movement, in Joong-Gun the 31st and 32nd, in Hwa-Rang the 6th, and in Choong-Moo the 18th.
