About
Dwit palkup tulgi, literally back elbow thrust (in English back elbow thrust), is in ITF Taekwon-Do a strike with the elbow (palkup) directed backward (dwit). It differs from sang yopdwi palkup tulgi in that it uses a single elbow directly backward, not both elbows to the side and back. According to the dotaekwondo.net breakdown, in the tul Choong-Jang it is movement 28 in a walking stance (gunnun sogi) with the fist of the other hand placed on the striking fist, performed slowly. In Sam-Il it is movement 20 in a diagonal stance (sasun sogi), with the right palm supporting the left fist. In Ul-Ji it is movement 8 in a sitting stance (annun sogi).
