About
Dung joomuk soopyong taerigi, literally back fist horizontal strike, is in ITF taekwondo a strike with the back of the fist (dung joomuk) delivered horizontally (soopyong). From the strike sondung soopyong taerigi it differs by the striking surface: there the back of the hand (sondung) strikes, here the back of the clenched fist. From the strike dung joomuk nopunde yop taerigi in the 25th movement of the tul Choong-Jang it differs by direction: yop means side, soopyong horizontal. In the tul Juche it is, per the dotaekwondo.net breakdown, the 41st movement: the practitioner stamps the left foot down into a right L-stance (niunja sogi) and simultaneously strikes horizontally with the left back fist. The Slovak ITF breakdown lists it as dung joomuk bandae soopyong taerigi.
