About
Digutja jirugi, in English U-shape punch, is a U-shaped punch in ITF taekwondo; digutja means U-shape and jirugi punch. It differs from the block digutja makgi (U-shaped block) only in the last word of the name. The Czech ITF Taekwon-Do Union gives it in the sequence gojung so digutja jirugi. In the tul Yoo-Sin it is, according to the dotaekwondo.net breakdown, the 49th and 50th movement. In movement 49 the practitioner moves the left leg and takes the left fixed stance (gojung sogi), in movement 50 draws the left leg to the right and steps into the right fixed stance. The Slovak breakdown calls both movements gojung sogi digutja jirugi.
