About
Deungjumeok geodeureo ap chigi, literally supported forward back-fist strike (in English Assisted Back Fist Forward Strike), is a WT taekwondo back-fist strike (deungjumeok) supported by the other hand. The Kukkiwon terminology dictionary explains geodeureo chigi as a strike supported by the other hand, and deungjumeok as the upper part of the first two knuckles of the index and middle fingers. The Taekwondo Compendium lists it, spelled deung jumeok geodeureo ap chigi, in the poomsae Taegeuk Chil Jang and Pyongwon. Per the Phoenix Taekwondo photo breakdown it is done twice in beom seogi in Taegeuk Chil Jang and twice in juchum seogi in Pyongwon. Per the Compendium it differs from danggyeo deungjumeok ap chigi in that the aiming hand is clenched into a fist, whereas in the pulling variant it is open.
