About
Deungjumeok bakkat chigi (등주먹 바깥치기), in English back fist outward strike, is in Kukkiwon terminology one of the bakkat chigi strikes: moving from inside the body outward, toward the opponent's outer side. Deungjumeok is the back of the fist, bakkat outward, chigi strike. It differs from deungjumeok ap chigi, a back fist strike forward at the nose or below, in direction. Taekwondo Compendium lists it in Taegeuk Chil Jang; per Phoenix Taekwondo's photo breakdown it appears twice, in ap seogi and just before the kick pyojeok an chagi. The Compendium calls for the starting thumb of the striking hand at the opposite shoulder and the retracting hand's thumb at the opposite hip; at the finish the elbow is straight, fist at jaw height.
