About
Bojumeok junbi (English: Covered Fist Posture) is, per Kukkiwon terminology, a ready position where the left hand wraps the right fist and both rise before the body. Taken in moa seogi: the right hand is clenched, the open left hand lightly covers it, and both rise from the danjeon (lower abdomen) to philtrum height (the groove below the nose) or the chest. In Taegeuk Chil Jang it appears once; the Taekwondo Compendium (nbtkda.com) calls it bo jumeok junbi jase. Per its notes, the hands meet below the abdomen via a straight move from the preceding strike, fingers stay together and the open hand's thumb wraps the fist's thumb; it ends with gentle forward pressure at philtrum height.
