About
Batangson geodeureo an makgi, literally supported palm-heel block inward (in English Assisted Palm Heel Inward Block), is a WT taekwondo palm-heel block (batangson) moving from outside inward, supported by the other hand. The Kukkiwon terminology dictionary explains batangson as the palm heel, geodeureo makgi as a one-hand block supported by the other, and an makgi as a block moving from outside toward the body's inside. The Taekwondo Compendium lists it among the defensive techniques of the poomsae Taegeuk Chil Jang. Per the Phoenix Taekwondo photo breakdown (techniques 9 and 12) it appears there twice, each time in beom seogi. It differs from batangson an makgi, also done in beom seogi in the same poomsae, by the supporting hand.
