About
Bakuro sewo chagi, literally outward vertical kick, is in ITF taekwondo a vertical kick (sewo chagi) aimed outward (bakuro). The ITKD New Zealand technique manual lists the vertical kick in two directions, inward (anuro) and outward (bakuro); its counterpart is therefore anuro sewo chagi, which precedes it in the tul Tong-Il in movements 8 and 10. In the tul Tong-Il it is movement 18 according to the dotaekwondo.net breakdown; the name Bakuro Sewo Chagi is given by the taekwondo.sk breakdown. Dotaekwondo.net describes it as a kick outward with the left leg, with the hands remaining in the position from movement 17 – according to taekwondo.sk it is a downward backfist strike in L-stance (niunja sogi dung joomuk naeryo taerigi). We have not been able to establish from the sources which part of the foot performs the kick.
