About

Ap cha busigi is, in ITF terminology, the front snap kick. Its striking surface is apkumchi, the ball of the foot. The Kildare Taekwondo glossary gives it as apcha bisugi and places it alongside ap chagi. The kick aims straight forward and lands with apkumchi. This sets it apart from yop cha jirugi, a side piercing kick that lands with the edge of the foot (balkal) along a piercing path. In the ITF tuls it appears in five forms: in Do-San as the 14th and 18th movement, in Won-Hyo as the 20th and 23rd, in Yul-Gok as the 8th and 12th, in Toi-Gye as the 9th, and in Kwang-Gae as the 33rd and 37th movement.
