The Académie de l'Épée was published by Girard Thibault d'Anvers in 1628. It is the most extensive and lavishly illustrated fencing manual in the history of HEMA. It applied the Spanish geometric school (Destreza) to rapier fighting – using a detailed circular diagram incised into the floor and precise mathematical proportions of the body.
