This ladder is not yet attributed to a specific organisation. Federations differ in belt colours and time requirements.
Shodokan Aikido (Tomiki Aikido), created by Kenji Tomiki in 1967, introduced competitive Tanto Randori (rubber knife sparring). The 5th Kyu to 10th Dan hierarchy measures Maai distance control, rapid wrist/elbow joint locking under competitive pressure, and Randori-no-kata 17 core techniques.
