General overview of grades
This ladder is not yet attributed to a specific organisation. Federations differ in belt colours and time requirements.
Savate (Boxe Française), developed in 19th-century France by Michel Casseux and Charles Lecour, uses a glove-color rank system printed on the uniform: Gant Bleu (blue), Vert (green), Rouge (red), Blanc (white), Jaune (yellow), and master Gant d'Argent (silver). Ranks evaluate boot-kicking techniques (Fouetté, Chassé, Revers) and Western boxing.
