Toda Nobutsuna, listed in the genealogy also as Toda Seiryu Nobutsuna, is, according to the genealogy of Togakure-ryu as kept by the Bujinkan line, one of the representatives (soke) of this ninjutsu school. Sources differ in order and dates: some give him as the 25th soke with the years 1624–1658, others as the 24th soke with the years 1624–1644.
His predecessor was, according to the genealogy, Tobari Tenzen, according to one source the 24th, according to another the 23rd soke. His successor was Toda Fudo Nobuchika (1658–1681) and after him Toda Kangoro Nobuyasu (1681–1704). Eight generations later the line passed to Toda Shinryuken Masamitsu (1824–1909), the 32nd soke, after him to Takamatsu Toshitsugu (1887–1972) and Hatsumi Masaaki, who in 2019 named Tsutsui Takumi the 35th soke.
The verifiability of the Togakure-ryu genealogy before Takamatsu is uncertain. The reference work Bugei ryuha daijiten states that Takamatsu's version of the genealogy contains embellishments and makes the school older than it really is, and Hatsumi Masaaki himself admits that there is no historical documentation for it. We have not found evidence of Nobutsuna's life outside this genealogy in the sources.
