About Mbapat (Traditional Senegalese Wrestling)
Mbapat is an ancient nocturnal rural form of Senegalese wrestling of the Serer people. Unlike the commercial national sport of Laamb (Lutte Avec Frappe), in Mbapat any punching is strictly prohibited. The fight is purely grappling in the sand under the light of torches and the sound of Sabar drums.
