Warrior is an American television series that aired on Cinemax from 2019 to 2023; the third season was released on Max. Jonathan Tropper was the showrunner, and Justin Lin was among the executive producers. The series had three seasons of ten episodes each and was cancelled in December 2023. It was Cinemax's last original series. The story is set in San Francisco's Chinatown in the 1870s, during the tong wars. The main character, Ah Sahm, is played by Andrew Koji. The series is based on a concept by Bruce Lee from 1971, which the studios of the time rejected. The fights in the series draw on traditional Chinese martial arts; we have not been able to establish from the sources which particular styles they show. The fight choreography was led by Brett Chan, and his assistants were Johnny Yang and Jason Ng. We did not find in the sources whether Andrew Koji practises martial arts himself.

Origin
The series is based on a concept and treatment that Bruce Lee wrote in 1971 for a series about the character Ah Sahm. The studios rejected it at the time, according to the source partly because of concerns about Lee's accent. The idea reached the screen 48 years later. The series' executive producer was Lee's daughter Shannon Lee, Justin Lin was also an executive producer, and Jonathan Tropper was the showrunner. The first season premiered on 5 April 2019 on Cinemax.
