The Sword of Doom
1966 · Director: Kihachi Okamoto · JP
What it is about
A swordsman without conscience moves through the late Edo period leaving bodies behind.
The fighting in it
The character uses a so-called flowing sword style — an approach built on the opponent being unable to read intent from the guard. It is a cinematic invention, but it matches a real problem: in koryū one reads intent, not motion.
Martial arts in the film
The film details have not yet been checked against a primary source.
