Films featuring Capoeira

Choreography by Huen Chiu Ku from Yuen Woo-ping's team gave the film a Hong Kong dynamic. The spiritual dimension of capoeira and candomblé is taken seriously here, not as folklore.

The film that first showed capoeira to a wide audience outside Brazil. The roda, the music and the berimbau are not decoration here but part of the practice — something most later films drop.
