General overview of grades
This ladder is not yet attributed to a specific organisation. Federations differ in belt colours and time requirements.
While traditional Wing Chun originally lacked belts, modern global organizations introduced the Duanwei ranking structure (1st to 9th Duan) or level certifications. These ranks mark progressive mastery of Chi Sao tactile sensitivity, core forms (Siu Nim Tao, Chum Kiu, Biu Jee), and wooden dummy training.
