Silambam, an ancient Tamil martial art from Southern India (Tamil Nadu), uses a rank structure from beginner Kurunila Manavan to grandmaster Periya Asan. Training focuses on high-speed bamboo staff (Kambu) spinning, Maru deer-horn knives, sword and shield combat, and Varmam pressure point strikes.
