Yabusame is the ancient samurai ritual and military art of horseback archery developed since the Kamakura period (Ogasawara-ryu and Takeda-ryu schools). Its 5-license hierarchy (Shoden to Menkyo Kaiden) evaluates reinless galloping in the Kurakake saddle, firing the Yumi asymmetrical bow at full speed, and hitting 3 wooden targets.
